HIMSS Nursing & Midwifery Informatics (England) Network Meeting

This inaugural event presents an opportunity for members to clarify the goals, purpose and long term future of the network, as well as communicate current status of nursing informatics and digital/technological initiatives; share knowledge; highlight successes and failures across the clinical nursing and midwifery arena; identify systemic gaps, training gaps, and future priorities for the network.

The HIMSS Nursing & Midwifery Informatics (England) Network will meet during HETT in London on October 1, 2019 to launch a long-term initiative aimed at promoting the role of nurses and midwifes in implementing information technology to enhance nursing and midwifery workflow, promote patient safety and yield outcomes that improve patient care. This collaborative, multi-faceted initiative combines components designed to enhance the professional abilities of nurses and midwives to transform the delivery of healthcare and to achieve better patient outcomes through the utilisation of nursing and midwifery informatics. This initiative falls within the framework of the HIMSS Nursing Informatics Community in Europe and is the first local representation of its kind.

Deep Dive: CCMM - Extending Health and Care Beyond Hospital Walls

The patient describes it as the non-disruption of my care as I move across care settings and care providers. Care providers describe it as the alignment of healthcare resources across care settings, coordinated in a way that delivers the best services and value possible for a defined population. HIMSS describes it as the Continuity of Care Maturity Model. Created to help optimize outcomes for health systems and patients alike, CCMM outlines the progressive capabilities healthcare organisations need to possess in order to seamlessly coordinate patient care across a continuum of care sites and providers. This session will present a maturity model that addresses the convergence of interoperability, information exchange, care coordination, patient engagement and analytics with the ultimate goal of holistic individual and population health management.

Speaker: John Rayner, Regional Director - Europe and Latin America, HIMSS Analytics, UK
